April-May 2013

We are finally getting some warmer waters to fish. With temps creeping around the 70 degree mark the fish are getting more active and we are seeing more variety. On May 1st. we had the best trip so far, with limits of Cobia, Kings, shark, trigger fish, spanish macks, jacks.. What an awesome day. The kings are plentiful within 20 miles.. Probably saw a dozen cobia also. These are some great fish to eat and catch. The near shore trips have been getting lots of big bull reds, black tip sharks, jacks, gafftop. Been a lot of action on big fish.

Feb 2013

It seemed like spring was here early this year, the first part of the month included days in the mid 70s, the fish turned very active in the bays and out in the gulf.  On our back bay fishing trips, we have been pulling in some decent trout and red fish throwing artificials drifting the mid bay reefs. We have also been doing a few trips on the windy days around the jetty rocks throwing live shrimp, catching a pretty good variety, of redfish, trout, sheepshead, drum, mangrove snapper, ect..

Out on the gulf we have been running a little further than our typical beach front fishing getting out to around 60 ft. The Big Bull Reds have been holding near structure out here along with quite a few 3-4 ft sharks, and plenty of catch and release snapper, and other sorts of reef fish in the mix.

Spring is very near, we are booking for the March spring break season now. We are also offering a couple of spring break specials including a coupon code for the month of March. Please call to get the code.

Oct. 1st 2012

Its Bull Redfish season ! the Bull reds have been running the past few weeks. Most trips averaging 15-40 of these fish in the 15-30 lb range. On the same trip we have been catching some nice black tip sharks, kings, spanish mackerel. One good thing about this type of trip is that we dont have to run far, usually out to 10 miles max, so most of the time is spent fishing instead of traveling. Its only gonna get better the water temps are starting to fall into the mid 70s which really turn the fish on. These next 4-6 weeks will be some great fall fishing.

June-August 2012 Texas Deep Sea Report

I know this is quite a span of reports. We have been very busy having charters almost everyday. The Red snapper season started out in june, with some great catches of big fish. Most trips average fish was 10-20 lbs with quick limits. On the windy days we managed keepers 3-8 lbs. Once we finished our snapper off to looking for other species, kings, sharks, mahi, ling ect.. The kings were the easiest to find. After red snapper season ended, which was on july 16th.  We have been targeting kings, red fish, ling, mahi, sharks ect.. There was a period during the middle of July that our boats were bringing in limits of slot red fish, along with limits of kings, sharks, and the occasional ling. The red fish you have to stay within state waters. We were able to find them on the way in on some close to shore spots. It was amazing never seen this many red fish during the middle of the summer out in the gulf, must have been from all the rain, pushed them out.
Currently August we are fishing for kings, sharks, ling, mahi, spanish macks as well. This is on our regular priced trips 8hr-10 hrs. We have also made a few trips out to deep water (12hr) looking for tuna, mahi, ling, amberjack. This is a specialty trip we offer leaving earlier returning later. You have to call and ask about it the pricing is a little more $. Not to mention the sea conditions have to be perfect to be able to make a long 60-70 mile run.
Also ahead for the August/ sept season, Big Tarpon will be a target soon, these big fish run up and down the beach front. Fishing for them you catch big sharks , kings, as well. The bull reds usually start running towards the end of august into sept - Nov. We love fishing the fall season, lots of action on big fish very close to shore, not to mention cooler temps !

May 21, 2012 Texas Deep Sea Fishing

The weather the past couple of weeks has been outstanding!  The gulf water 3-10 miles has been blue green. Recent trips have been catching lots of king fish and sharks within sight of land. The sharks have been thick especially. Bull reds are also still around along with the occasional cobia. Our bay fishing trips around the jetties and beach front have been excellent for big trout, reds and a few flounder. This time of year we catch a lot of really nice trophy sized speckled trout. Red snapper season is fixing to be upon us, just a couple of weeks away.  Looks like the season will be june 1st- july 10.

April 30, 2012 Gulf and Jetty Report

Seems like the last few saturdays were welcomed with some major wind. It sure made the gulf bumpy making it a little hard on our customers. We still managed to get our trips done, despite the winds we have still been doing well on bull reds, and sharks. The black tip sharks have moved in. They have been getting bigger with each trip. Some recent trips have even brought in a few Cobia while bull red fishing, they are making there run at this time. May is always a good month for Cobia here on the Texas coast. As the wind did keep some of our trips limited to inshore there have been quite a few nice trout and flounder brought in. As far as red snapper season goes, looks like it will start June 1st and go through early July, we are still wating on the final closing date. Days are going fast for June, if you are wanting Red Snapper better get on the books soon!

April 1st 2012 Texas Deep Sea Fishing Report

March was a great month, the weather has really warmed up along with the fishing. The last week of march has turned on. On our short offshore trips bull red fishing has been outstanding, along with some sharks. We made our first deeper trips of the year on sat march 31st. We caught quite a few king fish, along with some nice sized spanish macks. Also got our first cobia of the year, aka Ling. We fished around some platforms around 30 miles or so. The snapper season is gonna be crazy, starts june 1st. The are so many red snapper out there, they are literaly swarming around the boat, look like gold fish hanging around, eating up all the chum that we put out for the king fish. Capt Leaf

March 2, 2012 Texas Deep Sea Fishing Report

The gulf is finally getting a little warmer with water temps in the mid 60s now. The Bull red fishing is getting better closer to the jetties. Capt Jb had an offshore trip today going out to around 60 ft of water. Lots of Red fish in the over size and slot range. Also caught several spanish macks, and many nice red snapper that were released. The inshore bay fishing has been good for trout, red fish, sheepshead, and a few flounder mixed in.With the warmer weather the fishing should improve for the the best. The next couple of weeks should bring some great fishing. Spring is here. click here for todays catch: www.texassaltwaterfishingguide.com/pictures.

October 2011 Offshore & Bay Fishing Report
The Bull Reds are running big time out in the gulf. We are offering short runs out  for bull reds, sharks, and mackeral. Most trips lately have caught over 20 of these fish within an hour or so. Some really fast action on big fish. Some trips have got a mix of the bulls and smaller eating sized reds as well. The inshore Bay fishing has been good for trout, red fish, flounder, mangrove snapper, croaker and drum. This recent cool front should make it really turn on as the water cools.

July August 2011 Texas Deep Sea Fishing

July and August are some of our prime months to fish here on the Texas Gulf Coast. Red Snapper season ended on July 18, which came very short. We had some great trips with our red snappers averaging 10-15 lbs on the days we were able to make 30 plus miles. Most trips got their limit within an hour and we were off looking for other species such as, king, ling, dorado, and sharks. During August we have been hitting the short rigs and shrimp boats getting plenty of kings, sharks, a few ling and dorado as well. As Sept approaches we will have a mix of Bull Reds as well.. This fishing will go on through early November. Cant wait for some of those cool October mornings! October is one of my favorite months to fish, with spring like conditions and some great warm water fishing.. They may even reopen the red snapper season for October.. still waiting on an update.

March- April Spring Fishing Report 2011

Starting towards the end of March the big bull redfish did there annual spring run. Almost every trip we did caught lots of big bulls. The water temps were hovering around 68-70, once it hit the 70 mark it broke wide open. The Jacks starting coming in, along with spanish mackerals. The last week or so the Bull sharks have come in as well, some pushing 100 plus pounds. We have even begun catching a few cobia, the water temps keep rising so more fish will keep moving our way....

Nov. 19-21st our the last days of the 2010 snapper season. On the days we don't fish for snapper we are fishing for Bull Red Fish, they are still plentiful just right off shore.
